We started I Define Lupus because we want to help people with Lupus through education and awareness.
We started I Define Lupus because we want to help people with Lupus through education and awareness. I Define Lupus can help educate friends and family who do not know about Lupus, find out what a person with Lupus lives with daily. Lupus is not a death sentence, however if you don’t take care of yourself it can very easily become one.
We have started with brochures to educate people and we will be starting a support group, however, God has bigger plans for us, and therefore we started I Define Lupus, after the brochures were created it became a much deeper reason. The founder goes to Dialysis for three (3) hours, three (3) days weekly, she has been doing it so long it has become he routine.
One day her hemodialysis tech told her about a friend she had with Lupus who was not doing well. The tech asked how she had Lupus but did not look sick, she offered to talk to the tech’s friend and give some tips on what was working for her. A month passed and the founder asked about the girl, however, this time the tech told her that her friend had passed away, the founder knew it was not her fault, but she felt maybe if she had spoken to her she might have been able to help her.
That’s why we are starting I Define Lupus because if we can help one person with Lupus, we will have done our job.
